Make it a Festive Feast!

Thanksgiving traditions are generally very similar for millions of families across Los Angeles County. But every now and then, it's healthy and fun to change things up a bit.

We found a couple of neat ideas to enjoy in Los Angeles, that you still have time to book, order and/or register for.

Order your Thanksgiving Meal and have it delivered!

Have you ever wished your Thanksgiving feast could just magically appear on your table?

This year, it can, with a little help from Organic Kids LA. The Los Angeles food service is offering a wide spread of organic/non GMO options that may make you think twice about cooking this year.

Customers are given 3 options of Thanksgiving meals, all customizable to appeal to you. Choose a protein, 4 sides and a pie to complete your hands-off holiday meal, all delivered to your door (optional).

Since Thanksgiving is only a week away, you will be charged an extra $50 but why should that matter when a portion of the proceeds made will be donated to Los Angeles based families in need!? We thought this was a brilliant way to start a new Thanksgiving tradition!

We read through dozens of Los Angeles Restaurants that will be open on Thanksgiving Day, from casual eateries to very fancy dining halls and felt that Culina would provide an overall balanced Thanksgiving Day experience. The Thanksgiving Brunch will begin at 11 am through 6 pm and offer traditional fare such as carved roasted turkey, corn bread and roasted poblano stuffing and mashed potatoes. Plus, dessert will consist of their famous fresh doughnuts with DIY toppings.

Turkey Trot Los Angeles

Register for this year's Turkey Trot on November 23, 2017

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, this event benefits the Midnight Mission – an organization that offers a path to self sufficiency to those experiencing homelessness. Thousands of runners and walkers will gather in front of LA City Hall to make a difference in the lives of Los Angeles’s neediest individuals on Thanksgiving morning. Plus, why not kill some calories before putting them back on, right? This year, the race has teamed up with Bombas Socks. For each pair sold, another pair will be donated to the Midnight Mission along with a donation of $6.00!

The Great Los Angeles Walk

Saturday, November 18, 2017

Every year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, the Great Los Angeles Walk leads Angelenos through a 17-mile journey. The walk is free and hundreds of participants will begin at the Japanese American Museum in Little Tokyo and nine hours later, finish with a party at Ocean Blvd in Santa Monica. The annual walk was started by LA Journalist and blogger Michael Schneider back in 2006 when he decided he would celebrate his 10th year living in Los Angeles by leaving a footprint all over LA. Walkers are allowed to join the walk whenever they'd like, and though no reservations are required, RSVPs are appreciated. More information: GreatLAWalk.com

Turkey on the Table

Order one in time for Thanksgiving!

Turkey on the Table is a knit turkey that comes with sturdy paper feathers to be filled out each day leading up to Thanksgiving with the family's thankful sentiments until the turkey is "fully dressed".

It makes a festive centerpiece to any Thanksgiving table spread and comes with a book. Plus, with each Turkey on the Table purchase, they give back 10 meals to those in need through their partnership with Feeding America. Even better, you can take your Turkey for a cruise with your kids and take a picture with it, say, in front of the Hollywood sign or next to your favorite Venice Beach Art Wall!

Gratitude Jars

Year-Round Gratitude Matters

Intended to Harness the power of positivity this holiday season, the Gratitude Glass Jars are pretty darn cute, especially because they give you no other option than to open your heart during a challenging time for the world. They offer an opportunity to support and inspire others to write down their notes of Gratitude and love. Gratitude Glass Jars are handcrafted designs with wooden lids, packaged in a chic box. If yours doesn't arrive in time for Thanksgiving, that's ok. Gratitude is good year-round, right?
